Leaders From Within

Hi everyone! My name is Hannah Stein and I am a Senior at the University of Kentucky majoring in art studio while on the pre-dental track. I spent the majority of my life growing up in Bardstown, KY, not too far from Lexington! I’m excited to serve as the PDS President and work side by side with the amazing executive team we have in place this year! UKY PDS has already been so beneficial in orienting my future plans for dental school, especially through the last three years of college. Because of this, I wanted to give back to the organization that has helped guide me along the path to my future career choice. I have chosen to pursue a career in dentistry not only to provide the restoration of a healthy smile and a patient’s confidence, but also because of dentistry’s ability to combine the arts and healthcare within one profession. I look forward to seeing what kind of opportunities PDS offers this upcoming year for its members and the organizations we work closely with!

Hannah Stein

President

Hey! My name is Drew Wood. I am from Maysville, KY and my major is in biology with a minor in history. I served as the volunteer chair last year and I am so excited to be the vice-president this coming year. The Pre-Dental Society has allowed me to create lifelong friends, form valuable connections, and work to improve our local community. Dentistry is one of my passions and I look forward to helping others grow their love for this practice. I hope to one day serve my hometown and create a new appreciation for oral healthcare. If you have any questions feel free to reach out to me at drew.wood@uky.edu or (606) 584-9995. I look forward to meeting new people and seeing familiar faces!

Drew Wood

Vice President

Hey!! I’m Amelia Oldfield, and I’m a senior biology major who applied to dental school this cycle. I have dreamed of becoming a dentist since I was 8 years old because of its unique combination of science, artistry, and direct patient care. I want to own a practice in Kentucky one day because growing up in Eastern KY (Bath County) emphasized the need for accessible dental care for all. I currently work as a server, and in my free time I like to run, read, and try new recipes. PDS has truly been a highlight of my college career and has allowed me to gain knowledge, friendships, and memories that will last a lifetime. I am so excited to serve alongside the other exec members as our secretary and to see how PDS grows and thrives this year!! Feel free to reach out to me with any questions!

Sarah Paige Weddington

Public Relations Chair

Hi everyone! My name is Sarah Paige Weddington, and I am a sophomore from Vanceburg, Kentucky majoring in Human Health Sciences on the pre-dental track. I am super excited to serve as the PR Chair for PDS this year. I chose dentistry because the opportunity to create a smile that betters health and confidence. Coming from a small town, I know how overwhelming it can be to find people with similar goals in college. As PR chair, I hope to reach new pre-dental students to help them find ways to get connected and work towards their goal of being a dentist, just as PDS did me! Becoming a dentist has always been a dream of mine, and I am excited to work towards that with all of you!

Raneem Ktout

If anyone has any questions or wants help finding volunteer opportunities, don’t hesitate to reach out! Outside of PDS, I am a senior majoring in Kinesiology from Elizabethtown, KY. I am very passionate about dentistry and the rewarding experience of taking people out of pain. I currently work at a dental office in Lexington and have absolutely loved having the opportunity to first-hand remove pain from patients and help them gain their confidence back!

Jack Graves

Volunteer Chair

Hey! It’s Jack Graves! I’m a junior studying business management along a Predental track from Louisville KY. I chose to go into dentistry not only because of my passion for helping people in their dental health, but also for being able to use my hands in an artistic manner, bettering people’s smiles in the great state of Kentucky. Sculpting teeth and hand sculpting smiles to give people a reason to smile at others is a strong draw to the profession, while simultaneously satisfying my desire for humble servitude through volunteerism. I am so excited to serve as a volunteer chair for PreDental society at UK for the 2024-25 school year!

Camy Kuehe

Fundraising Chair

Hello everyone! My name is Camy Kuehne, and I am from Northern Kentucky. I am a junior majoring in human health science on the pre-dental track. I have always been interested in the impact a smile can make on one’s life. I hope to live up to my dream of one day becoming a dentist to give those in need a smile. I work at a dental office where I am in charge of coordinating with the patients. I also volunteer as a Big Sister in the BIGS program. In my free time, I enjoy golfing, fishing, baking, and being outside. I am excited to serve again this year as one of the fundraising chairs for the upcoming year! I can’t wait to see everything this club accomplishes this year!

Peyton Adams

Fundraising Chair

Hey everyone! My name is Peyton Adams and I’m a biology major and communications minor on a predental track. My partner and I will be in charge of fundraising and gaining sponsors so we can provide more opportunities for you all! Some things I love about PDS is how many like-minded friends I was able to make aswell as being advised and exposed to many different experiences and opportunities. This past summer I was able to assist and empathize with those in need of dental work in underserved areas. As someone who has had continuous dental work, gaining confidence in my smile impacted my everyday life, and ever since I’ve dreamed of helping others in the same way. I’m so excited to work with you all this year and lead us on a path to make peoples smiles better so they smile more!!!

Cooper Tyler

UKCD Ambassabor

Hey! My name is Cooper Tyler. I’m a senior biology major from Louisville. I’ll be serving as the UKCD Ambassador this year. Dentistry is an accumulation of everything I’ve ever wanted in a career. It’s a mix of interpersonal interaction, creativity and usage of hands, but also a great outlet to give back. Growing up, I never had any A-Ha moments where I knew I wanted to be a dentist, but instead my love for dentistry came over time and experience in the field. Each time I’m in an office and learning something new, it reassures me this is the field meant for me
